Can He See Me Now?

One afternoon in the car, Hudson and I were talking. (How do these conversations always pop up in the car??) The conversation got started by him wanting to wear a hat in church and I told him that it was disrespectful to wear them in church, God wants to see us while we are learning and praising Him. So he then asks me, "Mommy, where is God?" To me, this is easy, but to Hudson, a child, its hard for him to understand. (and like me, he needs everything to be black and white... absolutely NO GRAY AREA!) So here I was trying to explain to him that God is waaaaay up in the heavens, He can see everything, everyone, and all that is happening. He created everything that you see around you, the trees, grass, birds, etc, even you and me. I'm looking at him in the mirror during this converation and hes staring out the window intently and says, "Can He see me now?" and I reply, "Sure can Hudson! He can see and hear you all the time!" Isn't that awesome! We get home from our excursion (whatever random errand that we had to run!), pull into the garage, the door is closed now.... "Can He see me now!?!" Hudson asks... really thinking that since we were inside the garage inside the car still that God totally couldn't see us! "Absolutely Hudson! All the time! He is with us and He can see and hear us!" So as the day goes on, Hudson would sporatically ask me if He could see us, and I would once again give the same answer. (I want him to know, that NO MATTER what, God is ALWAYS with him!) Now the house is calming down, Coley is sound asleep and Hudson and I are about to take a nap in my bed. (now thats some good cuddling!) Hudson gets the covers, scoots down, and pulls the covers waaaay over his head. Nothing can be see of him. We never do this, he always sleeps with his head out. I ask, "Hudson, what are you doing?" Quietly and seriously, he says "Can He see me NOW?" Bless his heart! He was trying to see if there would come a time when God couldn't see him! But you know, what an awesome testimony! Absolutely, NO MATTER WHAT, God is always with us! Whether we are in the car, in the garage, in the house, or even under the covers! (HA!) I'm so amazed at all the things that my Lord has revealed to me through my precious baby! He has taught me so much and Hudson will never know the impact that he has made on his daddy and me.

**A small little side note. Last night, I dreamed that Hudson, my mom, and I were in the car (gees! in the car again!) and Hudson said to us, "Mommy, I want to live for Jesus! I asked Him to be my Savior!" Whoa! I pray that this day will come, sooner rather than much later. To have my children live a life of walking with the Lord is going to be awesome!

So after this blog was posted this morning, I got in my car and all of a sudden, one of my favorite songs came on. God is so amazing! Its amazing how I sat here and posted this blog then He just reaffirmed everything that I said.

Indescribable
From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
INCOMPRABLE, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Are You Ready for Some Football??

What is it with me and Hank Williams Jr. Everytime I think of a title... one of his songs comes into my head. I sure hope that doesn't mean that I am a redneck... Sssshhhh!! I really am!

However! Not so redneck that I like football! I just LOVE Football season! And those of you that know me, you are so laughing out loud right now, aren't you!?!? :)

To me, that means:

~fall is coming
~projects get completed
~books get read
~magazines get read all the way through instead of first half
~rooms get cleaned
~laundry is washed, folded, hung, & PUT AWAY! Thats a biggie!
~and actually, tonight... I even painted my toe nails!

Goooooo Dawgs!

"Mommy, Will You Pray for Me?"

On Monday morning, during breakfast, Hudson told me that he sometimes gets scared while he is at school. I honestly think that he is just like me, and maybe experiencing some sort of anticipatory anxiety while waiting to head into the classroom.

I told him that when I get scared like that, I just say a little prayer to Jesus to help me not be scared. I also said that when he got to school that morning, to just say it while he was waiting. (They have to wait in the hallway during carpool in the mornings while everyone is unloading). So here we are, pulling into the school and he said, "Mommy, will you pray for me?" WHAT?!?! My heart completely melted! He totally listened to what I said to him- and what the Lord wants us to do- lean on Him!! As I am trying to choke back the tears of joy, I said, "Hudson- lets say it together! Dear Jesus, please help me to not be afraid today. Amen" I sure did feel better, so I pray that he did too. As he is getting out of the car to go into school, he looks at me and says "Mommy, say a prayer for me today." Of course I did. And everyday since then after school, when he gets in the car, he asks, "Mommy, did you pray for me today?"

But this morning, the little man cracked me up. He's about to get out and we are once again talking about praying and he says, "Mom, you can keep your eyes open if you are driving while praying. It's okay." Wow! What a little thinker! The Lord can hear us regardless, if we are shouting, whispering, silently in our heads, or even with our eyes open! Thank you God for constantly revealing Your Word TO ME through my precious 4 year old!

That Didn't Feel Like One of the Bath Toys!

So this evening after dinner, I immediately put sleepy little Coleman into the tub. I am tired too, so I decided that I would sit on the floor and read a magazine while he is playing so quietly.

Im catching up on what McCain is saying about Palin, deep into this article because I need to know all the goods. Then IT hit me. Can you believe it--- it WAS NOT a thought! Something landed ever so plump onto my leg and IT DID NOT feel like a bath toy. My sweet little Coley had taken a huge dump in the tub and decided that he needed to throw a not so small terd at his mommy!

Lovely!
